Definition  For Possessive adjectives:

Possessive adjectives are adjectives that show possession or ownership of a noun or pronoun. They indicate that a particular noun or pronoun belongs to or is associated with someone or something else.

Examples of possessive adjectives include 

"my" in "my hat," 

"her" in "her cat,"

"their" in "their house." 

In each case, the adjective indicates ownership or possession of the noun or pronoun being modified.

• Possessive adjectives show the relationship between the owner and the object being possessed. They can be used to indicate both personal and non-personal possessions, such as "my car" and "the company's profits."
• In addition to indicating ownership, possessive adjectives can also be used to show relationships between people or things. 

For example, "our team" or "his family."

• Possessive adjectives can be used before the noun they modify, as in "my hat," or after the noun, as in "the cat is hers."
